SCS were engaged to project manage the conversion of an unused stairwell in the Bayview Apartment block in Port Melbourne into a three leveled office space and apartment. The project involved drafting of Construction Documentation, and managing and overseeing careful removal of the existing stairs to make sure no damage was done to the surrounding structural walls. The existing stairwell had to be be jack hammered and oxy cut to completely and safely remove each of the concrete stairwells and landings. The construction required mid-high end fitout in a restricted sized space. The layout consisted of a ground floor office and meeting area, mezzanine kitchenette, first floor office and layout area with hanging space for garments and top floor studio apartment. The construction of the ground floor office and loft apartment was overseen to ensure that it complied with both SCS drawings and the architects drawings, therefore strictly complying with Australian regulations.
