SCS provided the building works component of the Audio Visual upgrade project that was undertaken across the University. This required an upgrade to all the AV Equipment, carrying out of maintenance works and subsequent patching and painting.  The agreement involved the supply of all labour, materials, plant and equipment for the completion of works detailed and specified. Briefly, the scope of the work involved demolition of internal joinery, fixtures, floor and ceiling finishes, acoustic linings and balustrades; associated electrical and mechanical works; supply & installation of new plaster and door coverings; and supply & installation of new floor coverings.

During the construction faze, the offices were in full operation and occupied by the staff of the facility; therefore the safety of staff and students were an utmost priority.  Upon taking possession of the site, SCS isolated power within the areas of work thus also ensuring worker safety. Whilst these works were underway, barricades were installed around the openings to make sure there was no allowable access from the public.  Once all the temporary measures were in place and a clear delineation between public and construction zones were established and the power isolated, SCS then proceeded with the demolition works and took up the existing flooring.  After demolition, walls and associated carpentry works were undertaken including  all roughing in, internal services and all the walls and door installed.  The finishes existed of painting, floor laying, installation of metal works and acoustic panels, as well as the mirrors to the walls.
